INFLUENZA.
SERIOUS ON E AST COAST. Per Press Association. f Gisborne, March 16 The Herald’s Tokomaru Bay cor- . respondent reports that influenza is becoming serious on the Coast. The /Native Land Court has closed at Tlkitiki, and there have been three deaths there. The Tokomarn schools are closed for one week. A large number of natives left yesterday by the Monowai for the camp at Rotorua. Wairoa, March 16 Influenza is bad in the vicinity of NuKaka, where 43 cases are”reported. The iiealth officer who stopped celebrations which were in progress and closed the schools, says influenza was caused Joy natives -travelling from other parts to here. Members of the local telephone staff are affected. All the cases at Wairoa are said to be mild.
