MANGAWEKA NOTES.
* From Our Own Correspondent. ■Mr James McDonald, Manui, met with anasty acoident on Tuesday. IS was his intention to attend the sale at Hunterville and with that object he left Mangaweka on bis motor cycle. While riding along the flat between Mr Weston’s and Ohingaiti the chain broke, foaled the back wheel and brought the machine and rider to earth. Mr McDonald was oat and bruised a good deal about the head, and for some time was in a semi-conscious condition. Some assistance was rendered by a passing motorist and he was able to remount his machine and ride back to Mangaweka, where medical aid was obtainable, and the cats and braises attended to. Mr McDonald is recovering. Mr E Hobmau has emerged from his enforced seclusion and was on the street to day. Some seven 1 weeks ago Mr Hobman was tightening a rope over a dray load of hay and had his full weight on it when, without warning, it snapped short off. Mr Hobmau fell in a sort of twist and , the' result was a leg broken a few inches above the ankle. We were glad to see him out again and smiling. A party over twenty strong went out to Kawhatau on Friday and closely searched much of the district for traces of Mr Michael Kenny, but without success. Those who know the locality say there Is but one small part now not fully searched, and that will be visited at once. Another epidemic of changes is upon us. Within a few weeks the entire personnel of the staff at the Bank of New Zealand has been changed. Mr Lissette has sold his stock and farm and is leaving the district. Mr Med win, who fame a few weeks ago to work in Mr Barren’s smithy, has decided to move further north, and has arranged to enter on a country business near Auckland. He leaves in about a week. , '
