The Supreme Council met yesterday aud issued a communique announcing the concerted measures which are being taken to eusure*the protection of Armenians and other minorities in Turkey, It is significant that Mr Churchill, Minister of War; Hon Walter Long, First Lord of the Admiralty. Lord Beatty, First Sea Lord; and General Th waites and Venizelos, Greece, attended. ft is stated that the, Council ordered disciplinary occupation of Con B tantinople as well as a number of strategic poipts in Asiatic and European Turkey forthwith , while America has been urged to participate in measures for the protection of Armenians,

The Supreme Council is stated to be also considering military measures for providing against the possibility of active co-operation between the Turkish Nationalist forcda and sections of Arabs in Syria. All official circles are of opiniou that the Allied forces,, with troops which Greece is believed to be ready to furnish,assure the Allies of mili. tary superiority sufficient for any emergency in the immediate future, but the outlook is anxious owing to the extent: of the regions which the crisis may affect. General Desperey is due at Constnatinople to-day to resume comfnand of the Allies armies. _ INDIAN MOHAMMEDANS’ PROTEST, Calcutta, March 10.
