BULLS NOTES.

From Our Own Corresponds nt) CLIFTON SOCIAL HALL. The Women’s Auxiliary of the above held their first meeting for this year on Wednesday last to make plans 4'or the coming season. It was decided 1 to open the season with a social evening on Friday, 19th March at 7.30, when progressive games will be organised. The Women’s Club will meet every Wednesday evening at 7.30. A first aid class will be formed, beginning next Wednesday. During the holidays a shop which has brought in £ls 8s lid for the painting fund has been open on sale days. The shop was taken on the different days by Mesdames Watson,Richards jun., De Burgh, Kearney, Swede and Fred Mapsell. The Rest Room is always open on sale days and has proved useful for visitors to the town, Mr Gardner has presented two pairs of bosingi gloves to the hall, and a parcel from the Y. M. O.A. has recently beem received, containing four sets of boxing gloves, ping pong bails, quoits, draughts, and a football. A bagatelle table has been ordered. The game, of Badminton should prove popular during the winter evenings. GIRLS’ RED CROSS CLUB. The finll general meeting of above was held in Clifton Social Hall on Wednesday last. The secretary reported that the . self- propelling invalid chair, which was purchased out of the Girls’ Club funds, had arrived in Rotorua and was giving every satisfaction. The ping pong table and six card tables, also donations of the Club, are in constant use, and very much appreciated in the Red Cross rooms at Trentham. The meeting unanimously decided to send the balance—£l3 7s 6d—to Mrs Preston, St, John’s Ambulance, Wellington, for the benefit of soldiers still in hospital. The following is the final balancesheet Receipts—To balance September, 1919, £69 16s ; sale of garments IJovember, 1919, £1 ss; donation ss; petty cash, 1920, 9s. Total, £7l 15s.
