N.Z. Farmers’Co-op. Distributing Co., Ltd., report:—We fheld our usual Marton sale on, Monday last when 2000 sheep were yarded and a small entry of cattle. The sheep market showed a decidedly firm tendency, and all lines met with ready competition. We quote;— Two-th wethers 29s 2d, 2th ewes 28s 6d, mixed aged ewes 17s 6d to 26s 3d, poor conditioned ewes to 12s 3d, fat and forward ewes 2 ss, woolly b.f. lambs in good condition 18s 9d, wether lambs to 16s, good medium lambs; 13s lid to Is Id, cull lambs 4s Id, Southdown rams l>ggß., 2>£yr steers £B, hulls to £6 13s, weaner pigs 30s, Loan and Mercantile report:—At our annual Sheep Fair at Palmerston North on Thursday, 4fch insfc, sheep did not come forward as advertised, but we bad a fair entry. Prices for good sheep were in slight advance on recent sales. F.f.m, ewes 26s 8d to 27s 3d, 4 and svr ewes 245, do. in low condition 23s Id, f. m. store ewes 14s 6d, 2th ewes fair 275, do. good 37s 6d. fat ewes 28s 6d to 31s 6d. At our Feilding sale on Friday we had a very large yarding of sheep and a good yarding of cattle. The market was brisk throughout at recent rates for sheep, while cattle showed an improvement in price, Two-th wethers fair 26s 6d, do ewes 26s to 26s 6d, 2th eweu small 225, 4yr ewes 25s to 27s 9ci, 4 and syr ewes 23a to 255, aged forward ewes 15s 9d, call ewes 7s to 10s 6d, fat lambs 335, good woolly lambs 17s to 18s 9d, b.f. rape lambs 14s 10d, rape lambs 14s to 15s, medium mixed lambs lls 9d to 13s 4d, small lambs 5s to 8s 9d, good dairy heifers r. wb. £3 10s, P. A. cows empty £8 10s, forward cows £7 12s 6d, 18-mpnth P.A. steers £7 17s, yearling steeds £4. At Rangiwahia on Tuesday we had a fair entry of both sheep and cattle. All lots sold readily at late rates. F. m, ewes in low condition 20s, to 22s 6d, mixed lambs fair 13s Bd, small lambs 5s lid, Romney rams £2 2s, cows in calf £5 ss. 18-month Steens ) £5 to £5 19s, do. empty heifers £5 ss, do. r. w.b. £6 10s to £6 15s.
