The Evening Standard states that Mr J H Thomas presided over a joint committee of the Labour Party, Trades Union Congress, Parliamentary Committee and Co-operative Party. The committee accepted the draft constitution of a proposed labour and co-operative alliance. The joint committee is now recommendingthe three affiliated organisations to accept it. Negotiations are in progress for making the Triple Labour Alliance quadruple by adhesion of the engineers, also for the amalgamation of all railwayman's organisations by the Federation of Railwaymen’s Union and the Drivers and Firemen's Society. <
