THE CAILLAUX TRIAL.
ASSOCIATION WITH TRAITORS. London, Feb 24. In response to the questions of M Bourgeois regarding his intimacy with many men who have been since tried for espionage or treason, M Caillaux was moved to tears. He explained that after his wife’s trial for shooting M" Calmette he was deserted, and was so completelv alone that he was grateful to the few friends who stood by him. The Paris correspondent of the Times points out that it is curious to reflect upon the fatality which has attended Caillaux’s acquaintances Of the men mentioned, Duval, Lenoir, and Eolo have been executed. Almeyreda was exiled, Monier disgraced, and Goldsky and Laudau are convicts.
