QUICKSTEP WON BY KAIKORAI Per Press Association Y Dunedin, March 7. The Bands’ contests concluded on Saturday. Ideal weather prevailed for the Quick Step Championship, over 20,000 being present on the Caledonian Grounds, the takings exceeding £BOO, Financial success of the contest is assured. Results:— MILITARY DISPLAY AND QUICKSTEP; First prize £6O, second £25, third £lO, fourth £5: Kaikorai, 268 marks 1 Woolsson and Wanganui, 265 marks each, .... 2 The Band of the Second South Canterbury Regiment, 259 marks was next. The other competitors were; Invercargill Hibernian 255J£; Palmerston North 249%. Ninth Hawke’s Bay 241; Tenth Regimental, Blenheim 235; St Kilda 233 Twelfth NelsonMarl borough 229; Wellington Waterside Workers 229; Ist Canterbury Regimental 227^; Dominion Band, Invercargill 227; Daunevirke Municipal 224% ; Lyttelton Ma tine 221^; Wmton Municipal 196^; Christchurch Tramway 191. The B Flat cornet championship solo was won by B Wills, Invercargill Hibernian, with 46*. H Fox, Woolston, next with 44; W H Osborne. Bth South Canterbury, third with 40. The Recalls—S Williams, Woolston, 36; J McGrath, Wanganui Garrison, 32; M K Mara, 2nd South Canterbury, 28. DETAILS OF THE A GRADE RESULTS. Dunedin, March 7. The final result of the A Grade test piece was:— Kaikorai (Mr H F Davey) 283 1 Wanganui (Mr W M Parington) 283 .... '• 1 2nd South Canterbury (Mr A Schnaek) 276 .... 3 Invercargill Hibernian (Mr A R Wills) 270 4 Kaixorai and Wanganui therefore divide first and second prizes—£2so and £125. Second South Canterbury takes the third prize of £75; Invercargill Hibernian takes fourth prize of £SO. The points were allotted thus
