NAPIER PARK MEETING. - FIRST DAY Napier, March 5 The Napier Park Racing Club’s, autumn meeting opened to-day in ideal weather. There was a large attendance, and the machine handled £37,611. against £33,060 on the first day of the last autusnu meeting. Results: Omarunui Hack Hurdles —5 Chillies 1, 6 Sensitive 3, 3 All Talk 3. Also ran: Kohu, Zeus, Wishful, Lady Penza, Woolahra and Fortunio. Won by a head. Time, 3.18. %sk Hack—3 Irapaku 1, .1 Early Dawn 2, 5 Import 3, Also rsii : Lord Astolat, Asterina, Hepta, Heathermoon, WaWata, Lady Wolawa, Makepeace, iSycorax, Molynoaux, Dunstan Rush, Fotheringay Castle, King Albert, Fife and Drum, Form. Won by a head, Import close up. Time, 1.1. Napier Cup—4 Demagogue 1, . 4 Lovematch 2, 3 Bonnie Maid 3. Also ran: 3 Gaziqne, 5 Punka, 1 Maioha and Lingerie, 11 Athens 11., 10 Bagdad, 9 Potentiality, 6 Gold ■ shine, 8 Ladogeur,! 3 The Speaker, 7 Multaine. The first two hopes were coupled on the machine. Demagogue led all the way. Bonnie Maid gained second place at the home bend, but gave way in the straight -to Lovematch. There was very little between the placed horses. Gazique was fourth. Time, 3.7. Sapling Stakes—3 Ohrysostum f, 1 Delight 3,' 3 Humbug 8 Also ran r Little River, Tigrima, Verbosity, Woden, Raceful, Poiini, Mountain Chief and Martini. The first and third horses .were coupled. Won by a length. Time, 1.1. Welter Handicap—2 Palm Oil 1, 3 Persian King 2, 6 Eheipa 3 Also ran: Matatane, Marautotara, Rylstone, Voluble, and Manhattan. Won comfortably by two lengths. Time, 1.3.
Trial Hack—l Grange 1, 5 Chit Ghac 2, 4 Obant Royal 8. Also ran : Jolly Cove, Bernadette, Donaybrook. Won by a good length. Time, 1.16. Redcliffs Hack Welter —6 Mumble 1, i Admiral Oodrington 2,2 Guanaco 8. Also ran: Reparora, Miss Maid, Woodlark, Hofioke and St. Omer. Won by a head. Time, 1.43.
Flying Handicap—2 Chimera 1, 3 Marula 2, 7 Dribble 3. Also ran : Spanner, Hetana, Lionksi, Tari, Hookah . and Blissfulness. Won all the way. Time, 1.14.
