AIR LINER SERVICES.

f SYNDICATE AT WORK. Loudon, Feb 23. The scheme for a service of air liners to America and elsewhere has been further developed. The Daily Mail states that a large engineering and shipping syndicate has been formed, including the Orient, P and O, and Cunard lines, which are each subscribing £IO,OOO for the cost of experimental flights. It is suggested that the commercial routes will include Britain to the Continent and Africa to the East, The promoters are encouraged by the success of a new system adopted at Pulliam for mooring airships outside sheds. An earlier cable message stated that prominent aviation firms, including Vickers, Armstrong, Beardmores and Shortts, were combining to establish a service of air liners to America and elsewhere. It was intended to pruchase the existing Government airships, and build others, first running to Scandinavia and afterwards farther afield. The basic ships would be of a capacity of 3,500,000 cubic feet, with a cruising radius of 4500 miles and a cargo of fifteen tens.
