Loan and 'Mercantile report:—At Raugiotu on Monday we had a large yarding of cattle, and small entry of sheep. We also had a herd of dairy cows on account Mr Rata Te Kangi. Bidding on grown cattle was spirited and we managed to sell the whole yardling, with the exception of a few pens of young cattle, at rates in favour of vendors. We quote:—Forward cows £7 7s to £9 12s 6d, store cows £3 7s 6d to £6 12s fid, fat cows £lO 15s, empty heifers £fi to £6 fis, yearling heifers £3 to £4 10s, springing heifers £9 10s to £9 15s, 2yr steers £5 12s Gd to £6 fis, shorn hoggets 15s, woolly hoggets 33s 9d. The cows on account of Mr Rota Te Raugi sold well, prices being as follows:—Best cows £ls 10s to £l9, fair cows £l2 to £ls, aged cows £8 to £ll, erqpty cows £fi to £B.'

At Palmerston North on Thursday we had an average yarding of both sheep and cattle. We quote:—Fat ewes 27s 9d, store ewes 11s fid, fat cows £l3 10s to £l3 15s, forward cows £B, store cows £4 15s to £6 Gs, bullocks £0 10s, yearlings £2 10s.
