THE COAL SHORTAGE.

It is announced that the liner Imperator will be allowed to sail from New York for Halifax despite the fact that she had bunkered 7500 tons of coal as cabled on 9th December. The British Ministry of Shipping expressed regret and stated that it would replace the excess coal amounting to 5000 tons.
