BOY SCOUTS.

THE CHRISTMAS CAMP. A meeting of the committee of above was held at Marton yesterday. Present: Mr A. E. Dixon , in the chair, Mr Wm. C, Kensington, I.S, 0., District Commander McFarland, Sergt. -Major Saunlers, and Miss Wilson, secretary. It was reported that a full supply of military bell tents had been purchased for the use of the annual Boy Scout Camps. The programme for the ten days’ camp was arranged. It was decided to divide the instruction classes into two sections—viz., those who second-class Scouts, and those wao are not, and both will go through a complete course of scoutcraft, so that the full benefit of camp may be obtained. Several new forms of pioneer work were mentioned, and among others it is hoped to erect a suspension bridge, and a Zulu rope bridge. Model trestle bridges will also be made, and the boys are requested to bring their staves into Camp for this purpose. From reports received it is estimated that there will be in camp about 200 bojs between ;the ages of 13 and 18. Each boy is expected to bring into Gamp:—l complete uniform, fcomplete change (for fatigues, etc.), including shirt, shorts, stockings, pyjamas, overcoat, bathing suit, 3 towels, handkerchiefs, boot polish, tooth brush aud powder, soap, hair brush, two blankets and pillow, two vvaslmig-up towels, knife, fork, and spoon, two enamel or tin plates, and mug.

It is recommended that each Scout should mark his blankets, clothes, towels, etc,, with his name or that of his Troop. Each Troop to bring one or more lanterns. Each Scout must also bring a ground sneet for use in the tent, paliasses being provided by the Committee. On Tuesday the lady members of the committee met at the Coronation Hall, and reported that promises of liberal supplies of butter, vegetables, eggs, etc., had been made. Those wishing to send supplies may leave them with Mrs A. H.
