HUNTERVILLE NOTES.

1 From Our Own Correspondent. Labour Day here was kept as t close holiday, except by one firm. The weather was ideal and the Bowling Club arranged an al] day Pairs Tournament, some sis pairs being engaged. The caretaker, Mr Fetherick, had the green in good nick and some good play resulte d. Messrs Thayer and Ohisholm proved the with four wins to theii credit, Messrs Townshend and Evans being runners-up with three wins. The draw has been made for the Club matches and members are requested to get on with their games as they must be finished by the end of February. Great interest is being taken in the children's fancy dreus ball to be held in the Argyle Hall. The proceeds are for the school ground improvement fund. The school grounds are being filled level with earth so that it will be dry for the children to play on in the winter. A considerable amount of other improvements are to be done as funds permit.
