LEGISLATIVE COUNCIL.

Wellington, Oct. 24, The Legislative Council met at 2.30 p.m. The following Bills were pub through their final stages and passed :—Police Offences, * Counties Amendment, and State Forests. The Housing Bill, as reported from the Statutes Kevisiou Committee, was put through its final stages and passed: The principal amendment provides that a court, even when satisfied that the landlord has given proof us required by the War Legislation and Statute Law Amendment Act, 1918, may refuse to make an order for ejectment if it is of opinion that the making of the order would cause undue hardship to the tenant. * The Council adjourned at 4.45 p.m. until,B p.m. on Monday.
