HIS LOYALTY ASSERTED. 'United Press Association —By Electric Telegraph—Copyright. Received Oct. 24, noon. Sydney, Oct. 24. Father O’Donnell, mentioned in cables, belongs to Wyuyard, Tasmania. Mr Hughes, who received a cable from O’Donnell protesting against his malicious arrest and threatened deportation to Australia without a chance of vindication, says he was astounded at the arrest, as O’Donnell is one of the most loyal citizens of the Empire He cannot believe that he did anything to warrant arrest. Mr Hughes has cabled the Secretary of State for the Colonies on the subject.
