WOMEN’S RIGHTS
In the Legislative Council yesterday the Bill providing for the appointment of women to the Council was lost on the second reading by 18 to 8, the division beiug as follows Ayes (8): Hons. Bell, Hall Jones, Aitken, Paul, Grimmond, Fleming, Jones, Thomson. Noes (18): Hons. Sinclair, Hardy, Barr, Michel, Geddes, Patuki Tukino, Gow, Hawke, Fisher, Stewart. Earnshaw, Harris, Moore, Mac McGregor, Simpson, Samuel.
