MATT "WELLS DEFEATS GARTER. iUimwh* United Press Association—By Electrie Telegraph—Copyright, London, Oct. 20. Matt Wells defeated Kidd Garter on points in & twenty-rounds boxing contest. Bombardier Wells knocked out Tim Curphey in the second round of their match at the Holborn Stadium. Curphey commenced fierce rushes, bustling Wells, but, keeping cooi, Wells showed flashes of his old form. He finished the fight with a beautifully timed right hook to the chin, followed by a left to the other side. Fred Fulton, the American boxer, fights Captain Gordon Coghill, the Australian boxer, on Thursday next.
