1 Messrs Abraham and Williams 1 Ltd., report on their Hide and Tallow sale held on Thursday 1 October Ifith 1919 at Palmerston ' North as follows.—We offered a very heavy catologue of hides calfskins and fallow to a full bench of buyers. Owing to the issue of a Gazette by the Government giving pre-emptive right to the Now Zealand Tanners to 50 per cent, of all hides catalogued at schedule prices, only a limited quauitity was available for the open market. The exporters, however, availed themselves of all auction offerings and we quitted the whole of the catalogue at prices well in advance of previous sales. We quote auction prices at pence per lb:—Heifers and steers 24d, cow 17%, to 22%, cow cuts 16%, tto 3 6%, cows slippy 30, to 16%, ox 18%, to 20, cow and ox slippery 15%, 15%, ox and cow cut 17%, 17%, bulls 12%, horse 20s to 28s fid, horse cut 12s, yearlings 30d, to 32%, calf 19 to 3-k calf, cut 2fi to 31, "yearlings cut and slippy Ifi to 19, dry calf 5s to Os fid each, tallow in tins 43s fid to 55s per cwt fat 28s fid, hair per lb ll%d to Is 7d, rabbit skins Is 4d, tails Is 5d per cozen.
