VENEREAL DISEASE.

Hamilton, June 27 The Waikato Hospital and Charitable Aid Board passed a strong resolution urging the Minister of Health to make compulsory notification of venereal disease; also suggesting legislation authorising refusing to issue a marriage license until the contracting parties had produced certificates that they are free from disease. Dr. Douglas, Medical Superintendent of the Waikato Hospital, strongly supported the resolution. A member stated that it was time the gloves were taken off and secrecy dispelled. The disease was a deadly menace and the latest figures were disquieting.
