MAY DAY DEMONSTRATIONS.

COLLISION WITH TROOPS. Paris, May 1. Infantry and cavalry reinforced the Gendarmerie to prevent May Day demonstrators marching to the Place Db La Concorde. Firemen tamed fire hoses on the crowd, twice broke the cordons. Many heads were broken in baton charges. Another riotous crowd gathered in the Place De Longera and shouted “Down with the Government’’ The outlook was nglier at nightfall.
