CONFERENCE OF ENGINEERS.

Per Press Association. Auckland, Feb 19 Mr Sydney Mair, in his presidential address to the Society of Civil Engineers, favourably reviewed the Hurst Seagar’s proposal for a great memorial road from Auckland to the Bluff. He said that a concrete road, 18 feet wide, would involve a capital of six million pounds. The suggestion provided a national and economic memorial quite within our means. He trusted . it would receive the support, not only of individuals, but of representatives of Societies.
