A POLISH PROTEST. AGAINST GERMAN BRUTALITY London, Feb 17. The Polish Foreign Minister has protested to Germany, * and acquainted the Allies with the treatment of the first batch of repatriated Polish deportees, comprising 25,000 men and women and 650 children. The children were conveyed to the Polish frontier by day and night in open trucks, while there were 21 degrees of frost, causing the death of fifty six children. While at a froutior station, the Gormans robbed the repatriated people of all money, footwear and extra clothing, and detained the men aged from 15 to 35. FOOD RESTRICTIONS REMOVED Reuter. London, February 17. g A Berlin wireless message states: Hindenburg has issued a proclamation to the German people stating that he is returning to the eastern frontier. He calls for natonal nnuy to defend the .Fatherland against tha new enemy of Bolshevism. He recalls the victories of Tannonberg and the Masaurian Lakes, and urges young volunteers “ and |tbeir comrades to remember they are all Germans, and unite in self-discipline and confidence in their leaders.
