FIRE AT TAIHAPE.

A five-roomed house ia Hautapn Street and the whole of its cob tents were destroyed by lire at two o’clock this morning. When discovered the fire had too big a held to render the fire brigade of any value. The house was owned by the R T. Batley Estate, and insured at Wanganui in the South British. The Jamount is not obtainable here. The house was occupied by F. Kirkpatrick, and the furniture was insured in the British Dominions for £3OO and the piano for £IOO. The origin of the fire is a mys e’-y, Mr and Mrs Kirkpatrick and son being away from home.
