HUNTERVILLE NOTES.

From Our Own Correspondent. On Wednesday afternoon three nnts of Marton bowlers visited the Hnnterville Club, and a very closely contested game was enjoyed, the final scores being Hnnterville 58 Marton i>7, the former thus scoring a win by the narrow margin of one point. The afternoon was fine, and an excellent tea was provided by Mesdames F. O. Berry and G. Clark, which was much appreciated t, including*theSjviaitors The Rod Cross Shop on Tuesday ?e*t Inst., will be conducted by Mesdames Aid worth, Barthorp, Morton and Rhodes. All contributions will be gratefully received. Mr George Thomas, who is lying ill at the Wanganui Hospital, is making satisfactory progress towards recovery Amongst recent soldiers to return to this town are Messrs Hoimau Ashworth, Bruce Bartlett, Tom Ireland, Jas. Learie and Douglas Simpson.

Mr A. P. Stewart has been far from well of late, and hopes to leave for Rotorua shortly to undergo special treatment.

The recent hot weather has been most acceptable; the farmers are anxious for more rain.
