LEVIN AND CO.’S SALE. Levin and Go report: During the past week wo liekl our usual vard s >les at Bulls and Foil-ding, and do .ring sales ou account Mr , J. C. Hare and Messrs Badger and | Booth (In conjunction with Messrs Dalgety ami Go , Lid ) At Bulla we bad a medium yarding oi both sheep and cattle. Bidding was dull and lifeless, consequently we had a very dragging sale and a number of lines v;ere turned out unsold. At Feilcling we had a medium entrv of sheep and a small oiler mg of cattle. Tlie quality of our sheep entry was for the most part iiifoiior and very little business y/es dose, ewes in lamb being particularly dull of s:: Ir. Our offering of cattle whs principally steers and backward cows, which were dull of sale. Young cattle were in slightly better dem .nd and prices realised were in excess of vendors ideas. At Mr J. G. Hare’s sale we had a small attendance. Bidding however was fairlv free at d an average of £l3 17s par lie ad for the dairy cows must ho considered satisfactory. At Messrs. Booth and Badger’s clearing sale there was s very large attendance Competition for the dairy herd of 70 odd head w,-.s good. Cows close up to profit were keenly competed for. Ltd,, Palmerston : North, report having held their annual Sandon hogget sale on Thursday, Btb August, 1918, when 9469 sheep were yarded, of which 7339 were sold. Included in the entry were a number of lines of especially good sheep, and taken as a whole the yarding was quite up to the usual standard. Tliere was a good attendance of the local public and buyers were also present from Taranaki, Hawera Wanganui and the Main Trunk Line. Owing to the very r backward season bidding was not particularly animated, though a good clearance was effected.
