Ottawa, August 12. A Canadian correspondent ; explains that the Canadians took over secretly ga section of the Australian front, and south of the railway to Yillers-Brettoneaux, aud the neighbourhood to the left. The Australians and English troops fought a bitter battle between the Somme aud An ere. The Australians and Canadians made what is believed to have been the record advance of the war in a single day.
