FISCAL REFORMS.
London, August 11. Mr Barnes, speaking at Palmers Green, said that this year’s harvest, if used for the purpose of bread alone was sufficient to suffice for all needs of the population for forty weeks. He was - aware that some of the grain would be used for beer, Mr Roberts, Minister for Labour, speaking at, Maidstone, emphasised the importance of inceasing the home production, Meanwhile, with a view to giving security to agriculture, we must make some departure from the fiscal system to which the country had been attached.
