TRADE WITH GERMANY.

To The Editor, gir,—ln your issne of Saturday you advocate the formation of a league, the members of which shall be pledged not to buy German or Austrian goods, after the war. There are many who would willingly join such'a league, and keep their pledge honourably, but I fear the result would be negligible as far as the safety of our future is concerned. Once w’e admit German goods icto the country the mischief is done. There are certain people, traitors to their country, who will stoop to almost any depth to secure a bargain, others, also traitors who think that nothing matters much either war. while others again would find that they had, quite unintentionsllv, assisted the enemy, when they discovered trade marks cunningly concealed aft-r their purchases have been made. Tiothiug will protrct us but concerted action by the Governments of the Allies and the Dominions.
