Mangaone Riding —I have had very little done in this riding during this month, but expect to commence work on the Feilding-Hal-oombe road in a few days.

Rangita.ua Hiding. —as the weather has improved I have hau the teams at work again gravelling where required. The surface men have attended tn the water table in cuttings and other work required during the month. Ranmanga Riding.—The surfacemen with some assistance have done all required. The Arapata and the Eeu Keu roads nave b>eu attendee to during the month. During the month the mill owners have had a man repairing the Tonorangi road. Makine Rond.—The teams have been working on the Makino road. As this road was becoming cutup in places rather badly, I went through it and patched where required. The Kimbolton road has had some attention, hut more work will require to bo done ou this road as soon as the teams are available. If a motor lorry could bo hired I think that it would be advisable to get one for this road. 'The gravel from the Kiwiten is most suitable for light patching, but with the teams the runs from here are long and expensive. Taouui Riding.— The grader has been at work on a few of the roads in this riding during iho mouth, but as the Taouui Bunnyfchorpo Hoaa was becoming cut up again, I hart to stop grading and start the teams working off this road There is a lot of traffic ou the Taonui-Bunny-thorpe road, and I should like instructions to pur a fair quantity of gravel on when available. Also a few places should be widened and regraded daring the summer months.

Hiwinni Riding.-—The roller has been at work on the Palmerston and Gorge roads during the month. They have been scarified, graded, 'and rolled in awain. lam now going to have 400 yards ft gravel put on the Palmerston road and scarify it again. This should make this road a good one tor some time. A portion of the Ashhnist-Bunnv-thorpe road will also be scarified, graded and rolled before the roller leaves this riding. Otangaki Riding.—The teams have been working in this riding, but owing to the contractor having other work on hand, the gravelling has been going on r ther slowlyThe other work on hand will be attended to as soon as possible.
