FATAL JUMP FROM A LORRY

James White, of Whakamera, riding on a motor lorry which was taking furniture to Kaupokonui on Wednesday, when going down a hill the brake refused'ta act. White jumped off the lorry apparently with the intention of picki/ g the wheel. He slipped, and one wheel passed over his legs, the right receiving a compound fracture and the left being severely injured. White was brought into the Httwera hospital, where ho died this morning.
