MUTUAL BOBBINS. GERMAN BARRACKS DESTROYED. London, July 1. Sir Douglas Haig reports; Hostile aerial activity on the 29th was not great, but we destroyed Mne and brought down eight machines. Five Britishmachines are missing. We carried out much important reconnaissance work, and dropped tons of bombs iu daytime on Lille, Coutrai, Homines and Estaries. There was mutual bombing at night time, hut the enemy did practical!}' no damage We dropped eighteen tons of bombs, of which eight were on all stations at Tournai. All British night filers returned. ' London, June 30. Air Ministry official: Bombing squadron on Saturday night attacked railway works at Thieville; sidings at Metz-Sablons; aerodromes at Fleseaiy and Boulay; and other objectives. Mists prevented observations of results. We dropped manj' bombs on Sunday on Hagemiu aerodrome, with good results. We also destroyed barracks and station at Landau. We also destroyed three hostile machines over Landau. Two British machines are missing. THE INFLUENZA EPIDEMIC. PREVALENT IN GERMANY. GENERAL IN ENGLAND. Copenhagen, June SO. Influenza is prevalent throughout Germany. Dr. Seligmanu, director of the Bacteriological Institute at Berlin, states that the outbreak is similar to those of 1889 and 1893. There is no remedy for the disease. Loudon, June SO. Influenza is rapidly spreading throughout English towns, half the employees .in some businesses *aifd factories being incapacitated. The uttick is generally not serious. Few deaths have occurred.
