A little Maori boy, aged two years, was drowned near the old wrecked Hyderabad, on the Horowhenua beach, on Thursday last, says tbo Chronicle. Ho and ins father and mother and two-brothers, one older ami the other younger, were spending the day on the beach. The father and oldest boy wont further up the beach to collect pipis, leaving- the other children with their mother, who. a little later,left the children" asleep while she gathered the shell-iish in the other direction. She- returned shortly afterwards but to her distress found the body of the little boy floating in the water.
