ON THE ITALIAN FRONT.
AUSTRIANS PREPARING OFFENSIVE. BRITISH ON THE PIAVS. Received Feb. 27, noon. Rome, Feb. 20. Evidence is crowing that an Austrian offensive' is preparing on the Italian front. The enemy _is ronds untl many aerial cable ears lor transport of war material among the mountains. Mr Ward Price says'.that the new sector which the British have taken over along the I‘iavo river is separated from the enemy by two thousand yards wine of riverbed, with expanses of shingle and occasional patches of low scrub, wherein streams flow amid a multitude of sandbags. The whole will bo iilled with water in the spring when the snow melts.
