CAMBRAI EPISODES.
LABOUR COMPANIES FOUGHT WITH PICK AND SHOVEL. / Some splendid incidents which occurred when (The enemy broke through our lines [out of Cambrai were mentioned by Major Rhys Williams, D.S.O.', * Welsh Guards, at Glamorgan Quarters Sessions, of which he is chairman. Major Williams said the justices might have road about a fortnight ago that the Gormans had been able to break through a part of our line. They got as far as where a labour company was working. Labor companies are not armed, but they did not turn tail. They turned on the Germans with pick and shovel and joined with the Welsh Guards, who came up and pushed the Germans back.
Five decorations were given to that labour company on the held, and ho was happy to say that the ohi ecu in charge of them, MajorWatts Morgan (the Rhondda miners’ leader;, had been given the D.S.O. There was a loud cheer, MajorWatts Morgan being in court.
