TAIHAPE NOTES

From Our Own Correspondent. Two severe earthquakes were recorded at Taihape on Wednesday morning, the first being at 1.45, and the other at 9.40. No damage was done.

A man named Bert Davey was admitted to hospital on Friday suffering from a fracture of tiro left thigh. Davey was employed in the bush at Mataroa and the injury was caused by a limb coming away from a falling' tree. At the Ram Fair to be held next Thursday a fine lot of Romney and Lincoln studs from district breeders, totalling 700, will be offered.

Fine weather favoured the Swimming Club for its carnival held on Thursday afternoon. There was a good attendance of the public and the sport witnessed was really first class.
