RUSSIAN BALTIC FLEET IN DANGER A 010 HAUL AWAITS THEM. London, Feb. 23. The rapidity of the Gorman advance on Reval will decide Jjthe fate of the Russian Baltic Fleet, which is ice bound there, and the Helsingfors fleet. The crew which deserted include these of four dreadnoughts, seven big cruisers, and sixtyfour destroyers. The capture of the big ships will not affect British ority, but the destroyers will prove most useful to Germany. Jit is expected she will attempt to secure the Russian Black Sea fleet, but the Allies would mine tire Dardanelles. Tire Manchester Guardian contends that the Gorman advance in Russia must modify the offensive on the 'Western front. It will absorb a large army with long lines ol|communication exposed to guerella warfare. An attack on the Western front is still probable, but unless the Germans gain a remarkable initial success they will not attempt a formal break through or keep up an attack month after month. Attacks will be local and brief.
