LOUNGE BAR AND SODA FOUNTAIN

OPENS TO-MOKROW EVENING. The opening date of the Lounge Bar and Soda Fountain has been eagerly awaited by the Marton public since the establishment was first mooted, and to-morrow evening at 6 o’clock its doors will ho thrown open to the public. The exterior of the Lounges form a very attractive appearance, tlio decorative embellishments of the windows being executed in a stylo that is a credit to tiro artist. With a background of brown, and beautifully green tinted ov.-l centres, with gold lettering, the windows have been transformed into a very pictureqsuo frontage. The painting and finishing of the interior also makes a favourable impression, ami reboots credit on tiie firm of Messrs Duck: and Hamer, of .Marion. An elaborate sideboard with mirrors in the Lounge ■ Bar is tlio h ckground of a twenty-feet nurblo counter, I chind which is erected one of the latest of Eckoreley and Son’s latest iccloss interiors, comprising ico ere m vats and refrigerator, porcelain syrup jars, eight automatic force pumps, porcelain sinlcs and gl -.ss washers Giot and cold), and. of course, the indispensable soda fountain. Neatly finished tables to seat four and upholstered chairs are arranged in the room, whore the public's wants will be attended to by a smart st- ft of assistants. There is a side entrance to the Ladies’ Lounge, which has every evidence of comfort for lady patrons, iucludng settees, a writing table, and a number of lifesize mirrors on the walls. The glass and silver service was especially imported. The building is lighted with electricity, and the rooms when lighted sets "off tiie interior, the softness of its light from the Holophono liftings adding materially to the general appearance.

The latest American automatic electric carbon*tor lias been instilled, which is connected with titters through which all water used in the preparations is filtered. An elabor-te ice chest Jims also been built, in which cordials and cool drinks are stored. The syrups and fruits arc imported direct from the Cleveland Fruit Mill Co., which lias a world-wide reputation for its excellence of fruits, etc. The plumbing and fixings were installed by Messrs Rees and Upchurch, of'Mar ton, and the furnishings by Mr Jas. McGhesney. which is a sufficient guarantee that the best workmanship and material have been used in these departments. Die installation has been carried out by a representative from John Rigg and Co., of Wellington, who are agents for Eckersloy did Sons. Australian and English manufacturers. An experienced soda dispenser has been appointed to take charge of the establishment, and he is confident that if the publicwill try their goods they will bo sure to c *ll again. The establishment of the ‘Lounge’ Bars reflects great credit on the progressive spirit of the proprietor of the White Hart Hotel, Mr S. J. Gibbons, who lias spared no expense in bringing the rooms up to the high standard attained by similar establishments in the cities.
