Both sides sre putting their utmost into the campaign. To-day’s pipers are largely devoted to earnest final appeals to the various sections. It is Impossible to forecast the result. General opinion is that whichever way it goes the margin will not bo large. Hotels will be closed throughout to-morrow, which will be n public lioliday. A regulation prohibits posting or announcing the results at public places.

THE PROHIBITION YOTE. A CORRECTION. 1 Received Dec. 19, noon. New York, Dec. 18. Three-fourths, not two-thirds, of the States must ratify the Congress prohibition measure. Within seven years, if twelve more States adopt prohibition it becomes effective. The Now York World describes it as “Prohibition by Prussian methods. ’ ’ Washington, Dec. 18.
