EGGERS' ANTECEDENTS.
Per Press Association. WELLINGTON, Last Night. Inquiries made by a reporter at the Base Records to-day regarding the statement that Eggcrs, alius MacMahon, enlisted in the Main Body of the Expeditionary Force, ascertained that there was no record there of a man named Win. Frederick Eggers or a man. with a similar name having .ioined the Main Body. A deserter would not have been imprisoned on Some-s Island, which is reserved for the reception of interned enemy aliens.
