Mr Hughes, replying to Opposition charges that the Government was the cause of tire increased cost of living, stated that the inter-State Commission’s invositgation revealed no exploitation in the price of bread as fixed and that meat was not controlled by any combine of profiteers either in supply of stock or amongst wholesalers and retailors.
