(Per Press Association.) Auckland, Oct. 13. The Papaknra Hotel was destroyed by fire this morning. The inmates got out with difficulty. Nothing was saved. Wilson’s blacksmith shop adjoining was also damaged. Tlie building, owned hy Hancock and Co., was insured for £1250. The stock insurance was not ascertainable. Stratford, Oct. 12. The Temperance Hotel, twentyone rooms, in the township of Whangamomoua, owned hy McCluggago Bros., and occupied hy Mrs Smider, was totally destroyed by fire, the occupants escaping in their night attire. Insurances: Building £IOOO in South British; furniture, £4OO in Commercial Union, The building cost £IBOO to erect.
