From OnrOwn Correspond ent. At the monthly meeting of th» Taihape School Committee tbaHeadmaster reportedjthat the average attendance. in the primary classes was 303 out cf a roll number of 340. At Wimiata the average attendance is 11 out of a roll number of 14. A cheque for £3O for capitatiou and another for £lO as a subsidy towards the cost of asphalting the school grounds, were received from the Education Board. A meeting of the general committee of the Taihape Patriotic Society was held on Monday night*, when 20 members were present. A letter was received from the Advisory Board with reference to tha suggestion that money should bs raised to provide entertainment fo»New -Zealand Soldiers on fnrlough ia England from France, and the Board stated that the contribntlottdne by this district was £lO.
