AUSTRALIAN SHIPPING STRIKE.

In anticipation of a resumption the merchants attempted to load a quantity of foodstuffs for New Zealand, and placed large orders for fruit, which was loaded and ready to sail but had to be discharged. > The Union. Company expected to despatch live steamers this week, but had to pay off the crews who arc, awaiting developments in Melbourne.
