SOCIAL HYGIENE BILL.
WOMEN MAKE A PROTEST.
(Per Press Association.) WELLINGTON, Last Night.
The women’s protest meeting against the Social Hygiene Bill to-night passed resolutions calling upon the Government to withdraw the present holding that such legislation would have the effect of driving the evil underground, and inviting the Government to place the matter of social hygiena before the women’s societies which for 20 years have been suggesting a solution of the problem. Another resolution passed was on the lines of that passed last Saturday. Further resolutions expressed the opinion that the Government should establish farm colonics, where persona who are a menace to the health and morals of the community should be given an opportunity to earn a living under supervision, and requesting the Government and local bodies and tha Education Department to inaugurate a course of lectures on social hygiene.
