RANGITIKEI PATRIOTIC SOCIETY’S SEND-OFFS.

[To The Editor]. SIR,—In your rojiort of the meeting of the Patriotic Society on Thursday' night, someone said that the Indies were in favour of continuing the dancing at the socials. I wish to correct a awroug impression. On the clay of the last social the ladies were asked to decide if there should be dancing that night, or if it would not ho bettor to discontinue it, in view of the terrible casualty lists. The ladies were unanimous in favour of stopping the dancing, but decided that it was too late, as the only way to make it known that night would ho from the platform giving the reason, which would have a very depressing effect on our departing soldiers. Trusting I have made the matter clear.—l am, etc.. “ONE OF THEM.”
