At the Supreme Court Judge Den-nis-tan dismissed the appeal of Ev.ry body's Picture Theuie against the Fire Superintendent on a conviction under the Fire Brigades Act, tor allowing persons co congregtae in the foyer of the theatre while waiting for seats. Rotorua, Oct. 17.
At the Magistrate’s Court, before Mr Dyer, S. M., Mita Taupopoki was fined £2O- and costs for a breach of the anti-shouting regulations. Wellington, Oct 17. Joan Levy, shipping reporter of the New Zealand Times, was charged at the Magistrate’s Court with communicating to Thomas Harry Chudley information as to the strength of His Majesty’s naval forces contrary to the War Regulations Act. Hr Chudley, marine superintendent of the Sf 1;i iv Saviil Company, gave evidence that Levy read to him and Mr Sevan a letter giving a description of Great Britain’s naval armaments. Some of the information was afterwards published in the newspapers. The hearing is pro ceeding. ' , f gHI Auckland, Oct. 1/. .At the Supreme Court the Crown Solicitor intimated that six charges against Rua not dealt with' at the original trial, would not be proceeded with, the position being that accused can be called to anwser these charges at any time.
