MAURICEVILLE LIME COMPANY.

CAPITAL FULLY SUBSCRIBED. The statutory meeting of the Farmers’ Manrieeville Lime Company was held at Mastertoa on Wednesday, 1 i tli October. The following gentlemen were elected directors of the Company:— Wm. Peirj-, managing director, Masterton; Wm. Howard Booth, Carterton; Roderick Gray, Masierton ; Quenton Donald, Foatherston ; Hector Booth, Feilding; Evan Campbell, Wanganui; and G. L. Marshall, Marton. The Chairman. Mr Wm. Perry, stated that from inquiries made it is possible that all the necessary machinery could be purchased without spending as much money as was anticipated would be necessary owing to war prices. The Company was fortunate in securing Mr Laird to undertake the plans and supervision of the erection of the works. At last meeting an analysis of the stone by Mr Lawrence, F. C.S., was submitted, showing it to contain 94.55 carbonate of limp. Since then a sample bad been submitted to Mr Aston, F.I. C., the Government Analj'st, throngli Mr Jack, the Dominion secretary of the Farmers’ Union, and the report is as follows: say that the sample forwarded is a limestone of good quaity containing 53 3 per cent, of calcium carbonate. I should like ,to know the locality whence this was obtained.” Shareholders, no doubt, would thus be pleased to learn from indisputable sources that the lime deposit owned by the Company is such a valuable one owing to the high perjentage of carbonate of lime. It is hoped to have all th« machinery on the ground by Xmas and the new works in going order by Febxmiry or March.
