ANGLO-FRENCH MINOR SUCCESSES The High Commissioner reports Loudon, Oct. IGth, 13.-15 p.m. The British official report states that southwards of the Ancre there was heavy hostile shelling at intervals during the night. At Courcolette a small Hostile bombing attack was driven back without difficulty. At Schwaben liedonbt *a more important enemy attack, made after heavy artillery work, assisted by liquid fire, was repulsed with heavy 1 oss. North and north-west ot Ypres. south-east of St. Eloi, and to the east of Ploegstreet. we successfully entered enemy trenches and a number of enemy were killed and taken prisoner. Loudon. Oct. 10th, -1 p.m. A French official report states Northwards of the Somme wc penetrated last night the village of Sailly Saillisel and occupied houses ou the border of the “Bapaume road as far as the central cross roads. The enemy violently counter-attacked and fighting continues. Southwards of the Homme we repulsed a German attack at, St. Eloi.
