The Royal Commission, replying to inquiries, advises British farmers that they can best serve the national interests by sowing every possible area with wheat.

It has approved the principle of using big steamers of deep draught which are expected to shorten-the voyage by a fortnight. It is also dealing with the reduction of freights. The chief difficulty is tiro single loading heightening the cost to the British consumer, which would be solved if Australia could take British produce. The Commission is considering the possibility of taking over tonnage devoted to Australian luxury expoits, such as wine and fruit. It is sug gosted that Australian official representatives in London should be invited to sit on the Commission in order help in delicate negotiations.
